Crowdsourcing to fund Colorado State University’s Computer Science DevNet Team

Hello All,
CBC is starting a month-long campaign to support CSU’s DevNet Computer Science team as they develop a smartphone app for CBC. Thanks to graduate student Emily Gross’ work in Red River Gorge, we learned that climbers would like to have easier access to submitting their bat sightings. Having a smartphone app was one of the top requests from climbers Emily interviewed. Since CBC is made up of bat biologists and climbers, we turned to the pros…DevNet (Developer’s Network; DevNet’s LinkedIn Site) computer science students that have worked with NASA and US Department of Agriculture.

The campaign can be found here: Ramfunder DevNet CBC app development site. We are shooting for a total of $3,000 to support the students’ time and app licensing.

All funding will go to these talented students to:

  • 1. gain experience developing and licensing a smartphone app;
  • 2. refine a functional app that directs climbers to data submission forms; and
  • 3. prepare the next generation of computer science students for their future careers.

Anything you can give is greatly appreciated. Keep climbing!

WE NEED TO MAKE THIS MORE ACCESSIBLE…
